Dr. Hairong Zheng is a Professor and Vice President of Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology (SIAT), Chinese Academy of Sciences. Dr. Zheng’s research areas focus on ultrasonic Imaging and Neuromodulation, high Field Fast MR Imaging Technology and System and Multimodality Biomedical Imaging systems. He received his B.S. degree from Harbin Institute of Technology in 2000 and a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2006. He joined the University of California Davis first as a postdoctoral fellow and then as a project scientist in the Biomedical Engineering Department before joining SIAT at the end of 2007. Dr. Zheng has published more than 160 peer-reviewed journal papers and owned more than 110 patents, some translated into commercial products. Dr. Zheng was a recipient of Qiu Shi Outstanding Young Scholar of CAST(2018), National Innovation Award of China(2017), the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation "Scientific and Technological Innovation" Prize (2017), National "Outstanding Talents Program of Science and Technology" China(2016), the Tan Kah Kee Young Scientist Award of China (2014), and National Outstanding Young Scientist Award of China (2013). He is the principal investigator of the China 973 plan, a special fund of Scientific Instruments of NSFC et al. Dr. Zheng is an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on UFFC, an editorial board member of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology, and the chairman of IEEE EMBS Shenzhen Chapter.
Hairong Zheng is a principal investigator and doctoral supervisor. He is the vice president of the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, director of the Institute of Biomedical and Health Engineering, and director of the Paul Lauterbur Biomedical Imaging Center. He graduated from Harbin Institute of Technology in 2000 and received his Ph. D. from the University of Colorado in 2006. Mainly engaged in medical imaging technology and instrument research, with clear and fast imaging as the goal, in the sound field, the magnetic field and the organism interaction mechanism research, the biological structure and the function information acquisition technology have made progress, related techniques have been applied to ultrasound and magnetic resonance medical imaging systems. The main contents are as follows: (1) the calculation method of sound radiation force in complex biological tissue is put forward, which makes the ultrasonic measurement technique rise from the imaging of biological tissue interface to the functional imaging, and develops the ultrasonic elastic imaging system; Found the dual response of ultrasound radiation force to neuron excitation and inhibition, and put forward a new thought of non-invasive nerve regulation by acting on the mechanosensitive ion channel of neuron (2) a fast imaging method based on compression sensing and multi-class prior information fusion is developed. Combining with the innovation of high-power and high-precision RF/magnetic field gradient and other hardware technologies, the technology system of soft-hard fast imaging was constructed, which led the team to develop China’s first 3.0 T magnetic resonance imaging equipment. To undertake scientific research projects such as the 973 program (Chief Scientist) and the state major scientific research instrument program. Published more than 160 articles, granted more than 100 core technology patents. National Outstanding Youth Fund Winner, Tan Kah Kee Youth Science Award, Liang He Li Youth Science and technology innovation award, and national “Innovation for the first” certificate winner.
